Acura Legend is one of the first luxury cars introduced by Honda in markets outside Japan including but not limited to Canada, China and USA. Acura Legend was one of the most popular luxury cars in the above mentioned markets from its launch in 1986 to 1995 when it was replaced by the Acura CL model. As mentioned above, Acura Legend was one of the first models of luxury Honda cars introduced in the American markets with the Integra game hatchback in 1986.

Acura Legend managed to capture a large market share in a short period of time because of its sporty looks, luxury and affordable prices. The initial models of Acura Legend had the KA3 chassis. The two models of Acura Legend; Acura Legend Sedan and Acura Legend Coupe had 2.5L and 2.7L capacity with the C25A and C27A v6 engines respectively with transmission speeds of 4-speed automatic and 5-speed manual system.

Acura Legend Sedan had a wheel base was 108.7 inches, length of 189.4 inches and height of 54.7 inches. On the other hand, the wheel base of Acura Legend Coupe was wheel base was 106.5 inches, its length was 188 inches and height was 53.9 inches respectively. Because the Acura Legend series was discontinued in 1995, most car enthusiasts who own this beauty will have to buy spare parts sooner than later. Thus, basic knowledge in this regard is essential for all car owners. In most cases, buying original equipment manufacturer parts from the dealer is way more expensive than buying the same or even aftermarket parts online.

When buying spare parts, choosing between the original equipment manufacturer parts and aftermarket parts is most often debated topic. Original equipment manufacturer parts are parts designed exclusively by the manufacturer for the specific make and model of your car. On the contrary, aftermarket parts are designed by manufacturers other than the company that designed and manufactures your car. Although they cost slightly more, original equipment manufacturer parts are better option because; they are designed exclusively for your car and in most cases, you can claim warranty if they are not working properly.

One of the most important disadvantages of aftermarket parts is that they are usually crafted for (generically) for several (makes and models of) cars. Moreover, since there is no warranty for these parts, you will not be able to claim compensation or replacement spare parts if the spare part you purchased turns out to be faulty or malfunctions after a few days. Because cars including Acura Legend are expensive to both buy and maintain, it is a good idea to invest in quality original equipment manufacturer parts because in their case, quality justifies the higher price.
